Amongst other things… You may have noticed a text link for Affordable Web Design, eCommerce and SEO appear in my left sidebar recently. This is a sponsored link from On-Top.co.uk who have very kindly paid for links on both Blog-Op and Thermal. I invite and encourage you to have a click on the link, and [...]

My recent post on spreading the link love for your commenters was aimed solely at WordPress users as it was a plugin. However, those of you using Blogger can now follow us, and offer link love to your commenters by carrying out the simple instructions at BetaBloggerForDummies: Remove NoFollow attribute on comments. A subject dear to my heart at the moment, given the use of my blogs by scrapers. Unless you sit in a darkened room, and the only blog you ever visit is your own, you are almost certainly going to come across some material written by others, that really inspires you, or you know your [...]

Just a quickie really: Everything I hear, and experience myself, seems to tell me that no webhost is actually half as good as they’d like us to believe: 99.9% uptimes, superfast servers etc. all seem to be exaggerations at best. So: For those of you on paid hosting, I’d like to know who you’re with, [...]

What’s Alexa? It’s an internet statistics monitoring company, owned by Amazon.com. They provide a toolbar (which was once commonly considered spyware, less so now) which when installed, reports traffic data back to Alexa. Which means? Alexa issue all websites a traffic rating based on this information – you can see mine at the bottom of [...]

I know a few of my regular blogs have these, so I’ll cast my vote straightaway: I’m unlikely to drop any cash in myself as I’m more likely to contribute by clicking ads etc, but I have no objection to them at all – I’m happy for bloggers to make some money any way they [...]
