Well no, I’m not going to try to pull the same trick twice, but this is a cool idea with lots of positives for both you, the ideas creator and charity.
Blog Apocalypse is an invention of the Urban Monk and has a very simple premise for writing a creative blog post:
Bloggers: The blogosphere is coming to an end.
You have one last post. What is it going to be?
What is the final summary of your blog?
What is the one last gem that you want to leave with your readers?
This is a really an idea to make you think. What would you write for your last ever post? Would you look back over what you had, or hadn’t achieved with your blog? Would you say goodbye, or just disappear?
As well as being an idea to get your creativity going, and maybe to prompt you to take stock of your blog so far, there’s another good side to this:
For each link back I get, I’ll put a dollar aside. Once it reaches $500 I will write a cheque for a charity.
That’s it, for every linkback from a blog Apocalypse post, Albert of Urban Monk will donate $1 to charity, and he’s aiming to reach 500. So if you do write a post, make sure you linkback to the original.
So why not give it a try? It’s a creative idea, a chance to look back, a chance to think ahead, and a chance to scare your readers! And it’s for charity.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackHey mate, thanks for participating! Much appreciated!
This is kind of lame, but my final post would probably be a simple thank you for the people who take the time to read my blog.
It sure wouldn’t be a series!
I’m afraid I would just disappear because at that time, words would be meaningless.
A smart linkbait. $1 for a link is really, really cheap. =)
Oh yeah
Good cause though and made me think.
I’ll give this a go sometime soon!
