See the Blogger comment box? An unexpandable and unscrollable box where over half of the comment field is obscured, and you have to hope there’s no typos.

Is this happening to anyone else? It’s happened in the last week or so, with no obvious changes on my part. Really, I’m totally sick of Blogger right now, and my heart drops whenever I visit a new blog and find it’s hosted there – it’s getting to be such hard work to engage with the blogger, that I find myself moving on to a blog on a decent platform.

Blogger users: Sorry I’d love to comment, but it’s hard to write more than a one liner when you can’t see what you’re writing.

For those of you poor souls still using Blogger look out for some new features coming your way via the new Blogger in draft.

Blogger in draft is, in Google’s own words, “a special version of Blogger where we try out new features before we release them to everyone” and where you can join in the fun and give Google some feedback. Their first new feature is the ability to upload a video direct from your dashboard, by clicking on a single button. Your video will be uploaded and hosted onto GoogleVideo, and you can insert it into a post.

Google promise more features will be available here in the future for review and feedback, and it has to be said that Blogger is due some serious upgrading if it wants to hang on to the coat-tails of Wordpress in the free blogging sector. An official Google FAQ is also available, and to use Blogger in draft, simply log into your blog via the BID homepage. If you want to stop using it, just log in through the normal Blogger homepage.

What do you think? What other features would you like to see Blogger introduce?

A Claire Disclaimer:This tip is for Blogger.com Blogs, some work for Classic (old) Blogger some don’t.

Firstly why would you want to make an image into a link? I personally like to do some photographic link love, although Chris has never provided any photos of himself

Another good reason is if you like to make blog awards and would like a link back to yourself, a favourite post of the day for example (pick me).

Right so now you have an image that you want to turn into a link, what next?

If the image is not already uploaded somewhere on the web, your blog for example. You need to upload it either on your blog or somewhere like ImageShack, which i have used for image below.

If you already have your image on your blog, right click it and click on properties, cut and paste the image location to notepad, it should start with http://

If you use ImageShack cut and paste the Direct Link to image that should look something like this:#http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/554/cbg11503di7.png# without the hash either side.

Now your ready to make the image into a link, look at the code below.

Put the URL of the site that you want to link to, deleting the writing in green first.

Then add the URL of the image deleting the green writing first.

Then add the title of the link, deleting the green writing.

Fingers crossed it should work!

<a href=”URL/LINK YOUR IMAGE IS POINTING TO“><img src=”URL/LINK OF YOUR IMAGE ” alt=”TITLE OF SITE IMAGE IS POINTING TO“></a>

This is the hardest thing i have had to try and explain how to do! so if i have cocked it up please tell me

As i am coming from a blogger.com point of view, that is who i am addressing this too, but it obviously works for WordPress too.

Update: I have had some feedback and apparently this doesn’t work for everyone so if the above line of html doesn’t work try this!

<a href=”Your URL HERE“><img src=”YOUR IMAGE URL HERE” border=0></a>

Let me know if this helps?

If you have any further problems email me here or click on that lovely image of me and visit my blog!

Me again with another lightning fast blogger quick tip!
When you are writing a post for publishing at a later date, you need to change the time and date of your post. You don’t want it to appear below an older post now do you?

So click on post options once you have finished writing your post.

Then you can adjust the time and date, now wasn’t that nice and easy!

Let me know if it wasn’t
