I’ve had enough people leave comments about not being able to get the linkies working on their blogs, that I decided to post about it. Linkies are a great addition to your blog if you participate in Thursday Thirteen, Friday’s Feast, or anything else where people will be signing in and leaving comments.First off you need to create an account at Mister Linky’s Magical Widgets.
He provides a very concise explanation about how to install the linky on your blog, but there are a few steps you must follow.
The first step is you need to insert some code into the HTML in your blog template. He tells you where to insert this and you copy the code provided and paste it where he says.
The next step is inserting code into the post where you want the linky to appear. Again, he provides the code. Now, this is where I think most people are having trouble. He states that when you publish that post you will get an error message! He says to click the box under the error message that says to ignore it for that post.
I took this one more step. I upgraded my membership there for about $10 a year. Doing so eliminates the need to insert the code for each post you want it in, and no more error messages! Now the option to add linkies is there for every post I make. If I want them there, I just click and enter that name for that particular theme, like Thursday Thirteen.
I hope this helps!
