Further to my extended post on sitemaps, I just thought I’d let you know that Google indexed my site 6 days after coming on-line.

Another website of mine that I put up in August took 2 weeks to get indexed, and nearly 2 months before all of the URL’s were indexed (before I’d learnt of sitemaps). This simply means that Blog-Op posts are going to be available to Google searches almost as soon as they go up - This coupled with me attempting to make the headings attractive to search engines, has already resulted in a fair amount of traffic for a blog barely over a week old.

It may be coincidence, but I think it’s fair to say that submitting a sitemap to Google is not going to hurt your site.
