Apologies for the awful downtime in the last 24 hours, but ANHosting have been migrating servers, and the whole operation over-ran by a huge amount.
Would have been nice if they’d emailed prior warning of this, instead of tucking it away on a sub site, but then all you ever get emailed is advertising material….
Would I use ANHosting again in future? What do you think?

I am too suffer the outage. I did know they are moving by reading their status web site with RSS Feed.

However, their status site was down for one hour. I called them few weeks ago, they told me the new datacenter will resolve many non-server related issues such as overheat, poweroutage, routing issues.
ANHosting’s plan is one of the good deal out there. I host for free, because few accounts are opened under my affiliation.
So I would still use ANHosting for my non-critical hosting. Like blog.
Sorry to hear about this outage. Downtime can really set a blog back, but hopefully you are on track now!
Hey Terence, you nailed it for me with
“However, their status site was down for one hour.”
Which says it all really. My blogs have been down for days in total this year, and if you promise 99% uptime….
Cheers Chris – It always seems to happen when one of my blogs has been stumbled as well!
My blogs at AN have been doing pretty well (compared to where I was before). Hosting can be very annoying though – I had another site down for hours earlier this week (hosted elsewhere). And in general paying more for hosting doesn’t seem to help any (I assume paying thousand does but I am not going to do that – I mean like $50/mo v. $7/mo).
Hi John.
I know that no host will be perfect but I have lost so much time this year, along with a couple of databases.
I’m not paying $50 either!
I feel your pain
[...] one response so at this rate Chris from Blog-Op will win a years free hosting which, in fairness, he sounds like he could do with winning. However to make it a bit more fun, I’ve submitted my details to those lovely folks over at [...]
