Oh I wish I was a ProBlogger without any hair
In 2004 revolution was in the air
I’m blogging too late in a world that doesn’t care
Oh I wish I was a ProBlogger without any hair

When John Chow wasn’t a money hog,
Not everybody had a blog,
When writing really mattered and when content was king,
When Google didn’t have control
And PayPerPost couldn’t buy your soul
And WordPress was still scary and we didn’t know everything

Oh I wish I was a ProBlogger without any hair
In 2004 revolution was in the air
I’m blogging too late in a world that doesn’t care
Oh I wish I was a ProBlogger without any hair

When A-listers still remained a myth
And SEO-ignorance could still be bliss
And when Darren started his blog, he knew he couldn’t fail
When Larry and Sergey were in their teens
And net-neutrality wasn’t just a dream
And the only way to stay in touch was to dial up for your mail

Oh I wish I was a ProBlogger without any hair
In 2004 revolution was in the air
I’m blogging too late in a world that doesn’t care
Oh I wish I was a ProBlogger without any hair

When Yahoo Search was still on top
And porn was all they stocked
And the Web 2.0 (beta) was still drifting out in space
IE was the only browser in town,
And LolCats weren’t doing the rounds
And Andy Beard still had long hair and a house build yet to face

I’m blogging too late in a world that doesn’t care
Oh I wish I was a ProBlogger without any hair

With apologies to Sandi Thom, Darren, Andy and well, just about everyone really……
