One of the many tasks a webmaster/blog owner should carry out is submitting their URL to as many blog directories as possible, and a new one for inclusion is MasterMOZ.com.

This blog directory offers all the standard features of listing, such as tags and categories etc. but one of the main differences is the review of all submitted sites by the administrators and/or the pro-members. These reviews are conducted to ensure the accuracy of descriptions and submissions, as well as to weed out re-directed affiliate pages, scams and any other type of webpage which is trying to mask it’s true purpose. The result of this will hopefully be a directory with accurate listings and trusted, spam free content which is something to really appreciate. The advantage of this system over one of the established directories like DMOZ for example is that you can submit your site instantly and be straight in, without waiting for approval: I submitted 4 sites to DMOZ over 8 months ago, and none are yet included. However, the review process that’s part of MasterMOZ should ensure that the credibility of the listings remains high, and that directory member sites can be trusted to be as they appear. Any sites which are found to be inaccurately described will be deleted if the required changes are not made within 15 days, which should ensure that spam is not an issue.

I liked the look of MasterMOZ so much from being asked to do this review, that I registered Blog-Op with it: the signup process was quick and painless, and my blog was featured, with screenshot in less than 15 minutes. I await my initial review, and should any changes be required will make them straight away. The site has yet to receive a page rank, but given the traffic level it should get a good one, which will only improve over time.
