While I don’t set myself up as some kind of guru - Blog-Op is about passing on things I’ve learnt, not taking credit for them - you may be interested in what I’ve achieved using the various tips and tools contained in Blog-Op.

  • My Thermal blog is 2.5 months old and has had just over 8000 visitors and 14500 page views.
  • I have managed 429 posts, and have received 1,803 comments. Akismet has stopped 34 spam comments, and not missed any (gives you some idea of the ratio of spam to genuine, and why you don’t need word verification on Blogger blogs).
  • Thermal has managed a page rank of 4, and is rated 62,465 in Technorati, with 57 blogs linked in.
  • Blog-Op is 1.5 months old and has had 1,594 visitors with 2,738 page views.
  • Blog-Op has 68 posts and 237 comments, with 37 spam captured. The higher ratio of spam being a result of a .com?
  • Blog-Op has yet to gain a page rank  a page rank of 4 also(Thanks LennyP) and is 114,798 on Technorati with 32 blogs linked in.
  • I have earnt (although yet to be paid) $172 from paid posts, although I have not yet joined PayPerPost, as I do not qualify until February.

Is this good? I’m pretty happy with it, more so with Thermal, although I’m nowhere near the levels of Anita’s success with traffic. From what I’ve read, blogs do not typically mature until they are around a year old, so there’s still plenty to do.

If you think you can do, or indeed, have done better, why not contribute a post to Blog-Op to share your success? Thanks to everyone who’s visited & commented on both my blogs.
