This poll certainly picked up the most votes of any so far, so thanks to all 29 people who voted -it’s nearly half my RSS subscribers
The poll asked what was the minimum posting frequency needed to keep you subscribed to a blog. I was thinking along the lines of a blog you had no personal investment in, i.e. it wasn’t written by a friend, or was one you had read for years previously, more something you’d picked up recently. I find that I subscribe to blogs if I read 2 or 3 good posts on the front page, and will generally stick with them for about a month. If the number of posts in that time is very small, for no apparent reason, they tend to get deleted.
Of the votes cast, the most popular option, with 34% was ’2 or 3 times a week’, which would be my pick, followed by ‘Whenever – if it’s good…’ with 24% which shows a lot of you are more generous than me! I was surprised to see 17% had chosen daily – If a blogger posts less often than daily, you’ll drop them? I’d better keep up my current frequency then….
I hope those of you with newer blogs found this interesting information, and even if you’ve been blogging a while it’s a pointer to reader’s expectations.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackIf they are subscribed, I think that only too many posts would affect your number of subscibers. I think your posting frequency is more important to keep the returning viewers who don’t subscibe.
