Of the many tips I’ve picked up from Dosh-Dosh, one of the easiest is Text Link Ads . Very simple, once installed you need do nothing except earn money-they require no input from you at all.
TLA sell just that - text only links placed where you choose on your blog. Once you’ve signed up for a free account and your blog is approved, all you have to do is install the code in a position of your choosing anywhere on your blog. Obviously, the better the position you choose, the more likely it is someone will buy an ad.
TLA have already sold one six ads across my 3 blogs, with 3 further post level ads and it was extremely simple. When I was approved, I configured how I wanted the ad to appear - number of lines, colours etc, and TLA then created a Wordpress plugin that I downloaded and activated. I then simply had to insert a single line of provided php code into my template, and I chose to place it in the right sidebar as I hoped it was a prime location. TLA then activated a test ad which run for 24 hours to check positioning etc. That was the end of my work on the matter.
They then informed me that based on my blog stats, they would seek to find no more than 4 advertisers for the spot, and would charge them a rate between $10-$20 a month, and I would receive 50% of that. Sure enough a couple of weeks later, an ad appeared in my sidebar, along with an email informing me of the details. You can see the ad by visiting my other blog, and viewing the top right sidebar. You can choose the outline colour of the text box, and I decided to go for the same colour as my blog to make it stand out-you can blend it if you wish.
So, after 10 minutes installation, I am earning over $50 a month for doing nothing more than allowing text links to appear on the page - that’s got to be a good deal.
In addition, TLA offer a very good affiliate scheme where you receive $25 for every new member who joins using your link.

many thanks!
Hi Edward, you can sign up for affiliate status now, and apply for TLA. They will reject you but the cool thing is, they keep checking your site & will contact you as soon as you do qualify. I’d almost forgotten about them, when I got the email saying I was now approved.
Hi BB, I quite like your blog, but I’m not sure I’m seeing it properly. There seems to be no links/blogroll and a few other links seem dead. May I ask why you have comments switched off? I don’t see that on many blogs, & I’m just being nosey
One strategy you can opt is for introduction to the buyer. They will really like it.I am gonna do it if somebody buys on mine
That’s awesome Chris, and I’m sure it’s just the beginning for you, seeing as you’re the ‘all knowing’ one
What I appreciate the most is the clarity of your instructions, etc. One can tell you put a lot of thought and effort into your posts. (Just ignore the odd dumb blonde question from me
Hi Ashish, yeah I agree, that’s why I said thanks to On-Top - I’m very grateful they bought the link, as I know they aren’t random. Sure, they may just want an ad on a PR4 .co.uk blog, but they still had to choose mine, so that’s cool.
Kai, in my old life one of the few bits I enjoyed in my job was training and writing manuals etc. so I guess I’m just doing the same thing here
99% of the things I post about I’ve done on my own blogs, so at least I can pass on a little experience.
No such thing as a dumb question, if you’re seeking to learn something
I’ve never heard many good things about TLA until a site has massive (e.g. 100K+/day) traffic. I signed up a while ago, and nobody ever bid on an ad, so I dropped it. Good luck!
Anita
Thanks Anita.
I think more small blogs and websites are coming alive to the idea of using advertising. You could do 6 paid posts, and that would get you enough for a 3 month TLA somewhere else, it’s an idea I’m toying with.
I figured that once installed, the box is invisible until someone buys an ad, so it’s no bother having it there for me.
Now if I can just get TLA to approve my very worthy blog..
I actually prefer their affiliate program, you can definitely make a sizeable income if you know how to push it.
Thanks for the link, Chris.
Hi chris, good to see you are doing well. i have a new website, its a free article website. http://www.freearticledirectory.co.uk/
i am looking for some people to write fresh new articles you can include a link back to your site or blog and ill feature them on the homepage of the site for you and your readers. also i have a link to a good site that can increase backlinks to your site helps boost pr etc. i was hoping you might want to do a blog about it, send me an email if you do.
Keep in touch
Kathryn.
I’m amazed they haven’t approved your blog Maki, your traffic must be way higher than mine. Still, they do check all submitted blogs allegedly monthly, so hopefully soon…
That looks interesting Kathryn, I’ll take a look. Enlarging your internet empire eh?
Wow, that’s pretty cool! I signed up a LONG time ago but was denied (too new). I wonder what type of rates they’d use for my site (10,000 UVs/day, Alexa=40-60,000, PR=5, but should be 6 with next update). I’ll have to ask, thanks for pointing this out! -Anita
Show off Anita
Give ‘em an email, they’ll be all over you like a rash with figures like that.
Yep, like Maki my blog was rejected by the publisher program (lack of pagerank), but I have made a very easy $50 from their affiliate program.
