This week, I have mostly been reading:
- Madhur Kapoor brings us the news that Apple’s previously Mac only browser, Safari, has been released for Windows, and so far he seems to like it. It’s apparently the fastest browser out there, and may be worth a try. I’ve no doubts personally that Firefox is better than IE, but I’ll probably give it a run. Can’t get over the fact that most Apple products are designed purely for smug polo-neck wearing hippies though….
- Matt at Blog About Your Blog asked how would you spend $400 advertising your blog, and you can check out some of the answers there. I missed the first post, but I guess you could blow it all on a review at John Chow, which would either result in a severe shoeing or some toungue-love depending on how tight you are with JC, or you could pay it to me, and I’d do a week long series on how wonderful BAYB is, along with changing the title of my blog to ‘BAYB Is Best’
Any more suggestions for the guys? - Dave Zan gives us the lowdown on two mistakes people make when choosing a domain provider, and how you can avoid making those same mistakes. By sheer luck I seem to have avoided making these errors, but before buying anymore domain names, I’m checking through Dave’s archives and you should too. Sometimes what you think you’re buying, you’re only borrowing….
- Maki gave the impatient among us 7 strategies to help you get started making money, and as ever there’s some comprehensive information for you to chew on. Some have already made money for me, and I’m sure they could for you too. If you want to make real money on the web, as opposed to dreaming of internet mogul millions, Dosh Dosh is the only blog you should be reading-no big promises, just the facts.
- Armen casually dropped off two superb tips on contrast and readability that I had not come across before, and are essential for you if you do, or would like to use, a dark template. I’ve seen some beautiful dark templates in the past, but have avoided them because of the contrast issue – this post might enable you to take the dark side with your new template.
- A ‘Stop-Press’: Matt’s blog is up for sale – Perhaps the BAYB crew should spend their $400 there?
Enough reading, must start writing…..
