After much procrastination on their part, Agloco has finally released the viewbar for download, so if you’ve signed up, you should shortly be receiving an email telling you to go get it.

I have installed mine, and it seems very unobtrusive, and easily closed down if required. Here’s a screenshot, try and spot it:

Agloco Viewbar

It’s that line above the taskbar, and then below the dark bottom bar of Firefox. Time will tell whether it makes us any money, but I will of course let you know: One thing is certain: It’s not going to cost you any money, so despite what some people say, I don’t see how it qualifies as  scam.

If you don’t know what Agloco is, I have written about it before, asking what’s the worst that can happen? but in a nutshell:

  • You sign up to Agloco.
  • Install the viewbar, and surf the web normally.
  • The viewbar shows targeted ads within the bar, based on your surfing habits. The bar can be switched off at any time, and/or blocked with a firewall if you wish.
  • You earn hours for surfing, up to a maximum of 5 a month.
  • Agloco will then pay you based on the number of hours surfed, and the money earned by the company.
  • If you sign further people up via an affiliate link, you earn money based on a proportion of their accrued hours.

The typical payout is expected to be $5-15 a month for a single user, which isn’t much, but is a lot for doing nothing. It’s also more than Google pay you for monitoring your surfing habits….

Sign more people up, and earn more money. With that in mind, if you click the picture below and sign up through my affiliate link, you can come join my network ;-)
