This could be a very useful website for you, whether you fancy some new fonts for your copy of Microsoft Word, or simply something different to use in your website or blog. Urban Fonts.com enables you to Download Free Fonts, for your PC or Mac. Currently they have over eight thousand fonts and dingbats available for instant download. There’s a massive range available from the old favourites like Arial to some stunning new ones such as the one based on the ‘Walt Disney’ script, and others in a variety of handwriting or graffiti styles. All of these are free, but the site also includes links to other sites where you can buy fonts if you so wish, ensuring that you’re bound to find what you’re looking for. The site is very comprehensive with lots of extra information. I know the Arial font is everywhere (I use it a lot myself), but I didn’t know it was basically Microsoft’s doing (again) that it became so popular, nor that it was based on an old and famous font-Helvetica. Installation of the fonts is simple, simply download the font in the format required (PC or Mac), drag it into your fonts folder (available via the control panel) and it should be available for use. An excellent and very free resource!
