No, it’s not because of Googles insular approach to link leaving, but because of this:

See the Blogger comment box? An unexpandable and unscrollable box where over half of the comment field is obscured, and you have to hope there’s no typos.
Is this happening to anyone else? It’s happened in the last week or so, with no obvious changes on my part. Really, I’m totally sick of Blogger right now, and my heart drops whenever I visit a new blog and find it’s hosted there – it’s getting to be such hard work to engage with the blogger, that I find myself moving on to a blog on a decent platform.
Blogger users: Sorry I’d love to comment, but it’s hard to write more than a one liner when you can’t see what you’re writing.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackI get exactly the same! Even after a firefox reinstall I can’t fix it.
Love to hear a solution for it
Well, I’m glad it’s not just me.
Ideas welcomed
Do you have grease monkey plugin? It happens to me too.
Hey that blog looks cool though!
I do use Greasemonkey….. hmm. I think it was OK after installing GM, but I wonder….
It probably is a greasemonkey script doing it. A friend of mine had the same problem, but couldn’t figure out which particular one it was. Folks without it don’t have the problem. Disabled scripts until it finally went away (she had waay more than she really needed).
Oh, and OpenID commenting is now available at blogger blogs as well.
hmm, I’ve been having this problem happen to me with other (non blogger) sites. Only in Firefox (so I have to switch to IE – urghh). I couldn’t work out why – now it seems I’ve found the answer here, because I use Grease Monkey too.
I don’t use GM, but I get the same bad box on all Blogger blogs. I thought it was just me. Heck, I have gotten like you in that I hate having to put in the verification crap. I mean, really, how much spam do these people really get anyway? I really hate by-passing some good blogs because of these two problems, but I only have so much time. Sorry Bloggers!
It appears fine in IE7.
I’m a Blogger blogger, as you know, so maybe I get the full comment box as part of the package?
Seriously, I’ve never had this problem.
Oh, and Webduck, I put up word verification for about a week recently because I did get a couple of spam comments on older posts and I thought I’d just nip that in the bud.
Just like human commenters, though, the spammers zeroed in on short posts on which to leave comments….
I don’t use GM and that has been doing that on various blogs for years. I never understood what the hell the problem was but its a moot point now since most of the world can’t comment unless they get a gmail acct.
The problem appears to be a random one. Thinking about it, I’d been running the same GM scripts for ages before this problem appeared.
I’m with you blueyes, Google seem to be going out of their way to alienate non-Blogger users.
It’s wonder…. After installing GM
I wanted to take a quick moment of your time to let you know that the Blogger blogs now let you put in your nickname and URL. I’ve done it on several blogs now.
It seems Google figured out they screwed up and fixed it.
Cheers RT, it’s about time.
Hi there, I’ve been using blogger for quite some time now and I have commented on blogger posts for a few occasions. But I havent encountered a single instance like this. I’m using avant browser and firefox.
I’m not getting that problem on Blogger but have on a few other sites in Firefox. Have any other bloggers heard about a new blogger browser that is kin to Firefox called Flock? I downloaded it and found it to be quite interesting to use. It did add all my Firefox links to it, passwords and so on, still playing with it a bit.
