Ways to Get Cheap and Last Minute Broadway Tickets

All my friends in the city have told me about the miracle that they call last minute broadway tickets. Being the procrastinating post grads they are, they like to purchase their theatre tickets, whether they be broadway discount tickets or broadway last minute tickets, at the eleventh hour.

So I asked them how to get last minute broadway tickets, and every one had his or her own method of getting their prize. Some times they would go online and get them, as many site sell these tickets at reduced prices.

My former roommate preferred to see if anyone on the street was trying to get rid of an extra ticket or two. These folks will have bought extra tickets for people who cancelled on them for one reason or another, and they usually sell the extra seats for less than they bought, just so they could recoup some of their money. (Warning: this method of obtaining last minute broadway tickets if frowned upon.)

You can also go to a preview show. These are shows that the company puts on before critics go to review it. It is usually less refined and polished than the production that the critics go see, and the prices are usually the same. This is more a method for getting cheap tickets, though. However, not there are times when you can get these cheaper prices for your last minute broadway tickets.

You can also compromise your choice of seating. There are usually some of the cheaper, less desirable seats open, and these will still be available when you head to the theatre to procure your last minute broadway tickets.
