Did you know that by 2011, the internet contained almost 20 billion pages? The internet now defines how many people interact with everything from car dealerships to talking to their grandmothers, to finding babysitters. The original search tool for the internet was Archie of the 1990s. It is important for websites to have good web design, since web design can influence whether users stay on the page or click away. It used to be enough to simply have information listed. Today, users expect user friendly design and a fully integrated experience. If you are a local business in Cincinnati, what are some things you should expect from your web design?

First, more and more people are accessing the internet from phones and other mobile devices. It is important to have a website that is optimized for this form of viewing. Although most websites will appear in mobile devices, having font sizes and layouts that are not conducive to mobile format will drastically reduce the usability of your layout for these users. For this reason, make sure your website designer Cincinnati makes your site mobile compatible.

Second, Cincinnati web design should be functional, easy to navigate, and appealing to the eye. If a site is easy to navigate, users have no issue locating information whether it is your store hours or your shipping policies. A visually appealing and professional website uses a uniform font type, has a good image to text ratio, and has no broken images or links. Avoid comic sans and brightly colored text if you want to be taken seriously.

Third, make sure your web designer Cincinnati understands the importance of speed. Research shows that users will wait up to four seconds for a page to load, after which point they will begin to click away. Just a one second increase in the amount of time it takes to load can result in a 7 percent conversion loss.

Fourth, any web designer cincinnati will have a website where they showcase examples of their work. Take a careful look through previous sites they have worked on, and check to make sure these sites are functional still today. Ask about what extras your potential web designer Cincinnati can provide. Will they offer continued website support? Email marketing help? Et cetera?

thanks for the tips! good point about having a uniform font. Whenever i see sites that use 4 font types in multiple bright colors it looks like theyre advertising for a kindergarten birthday party

also, note that web designers should be paid for their work. Way too many people think they can get something for nothing. If you want a well designed site, be willing to pay for it.
