Ensuring Security For Android and Exchange

Trying to connect to your Exchange servers from an Android device? This time saving connection will allow android users to interact with their exchange email systems. You can integrate your devices with ActiveSync, especially ActiveSync Android, to maintain full functionality on mobile devices. The Exchange ActiveSync connection means that you can access work email from practically anywhere. This is becoming even more important since about half of all U.S. mobile phone owners have smartphones. ActiveSync Android devices are fully capable of taking advantage of this connection to access corporate data from their smartphone.

BYOD, or bring your own device, is the growing trend of using your own mobile devices at work. This does present some issues for security and systems availability when personal devices are brought onto the business network. Activesync security policies need to be updated to account for the BYOD trend.

In addition to the ActiveSync Android issues, you have to consider mobile device management, or MDM, since a lost smart phone can represent a security breach or other security issues. In fact, 47 percent, nearly half, of all BYOD companies have a security breach stemming from those devices. ActiveSync Android represents a touchpoint that the IT department will have to account for in as part of their mobile device management. Extensive planning and guidelines around passwords and permissions can mitigate any ActiveSync Android issues.

While there are security issues inherent with BYOD and technologies like ActiveSync Android systems, you can gain employee productivity by supporting these upgrades. The ability to access email whenever and wherever means that your business and employees can respond in a timely manner, even if they are not in the office. Fortunately Microsoft ActiveSync adds a protection layer on top that gives corporations more security and management features that are available to ActiveSync Android end users.
